Legion and Branch 292 History´╗┐

Legion - The Royal Canadian Legion was founded in November 1925 in Winnipeg, Manitoba as the Canadian Legion of the British Empire Services League (BESL) and was incorporated by Special Act of Parliament. Charter was issued in July 1926.

Victoria Legion (Trafalgar/Pro Patria) Branch 292 - The Victoria Branch is the product of two Branches amalgamating the Trafalgar and Pro Patria Branches on 16 October 2002. Both have a long history of serving veterans.

On 22 November 1926, Pro Patria Branch was granted a Charter with the designated British Columbia Number 31. The Branch has resided on our current Gorge Road East location since 1 November 1990. The Trafalgar, Branch number 24, was formed on the 6 May 1962. The two Branches amalgamated on 16 October 2002 with the Branch 292 designation.
